Province releases report on Suicide

A new report will better position government and its partners to help Nova Scotians at risk of attempting suicide.

The report, Suicide and Attempted Suicide in Nova Scotia, was released today, July 15. Its purpose is to help those who work in the areas of suicide prevention, intervention and support.

Election 2009: Politician’s Report Card on Mental Health

Election time is a time to be heard. In a bid to be elected or re-elected, politicians are responsive to voters’ suggestions, complaints or requests. The Kings Branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association has taken this opportunity to open a dialogue with a politician from each of the major parties centering around what it perceives are the shortfalls of the present system of mental health care in the province.
